OUR CHEF

We are delighted to introduce our Chef Tony Angel who, as Head Chef, will be responsible for creating classic French and contemporary cuisine which will compliment the beautiful dining room overlooking the historic Market Place.

 

Cooking remains a passion for Tony who learnt his skills some years ago at The Manor Restaurant at Long Bennington and The Robin Hood Hotel in Newark. Sadly both establishments are no longer around. Wishing to expand his horizons and learn new skills Tony moved to the Isle of Skye before returning to his birth place in Surrey, to the Ship Hotel in Weybridge where he worked his way up the ladder and also met his wife, Fiona. They have three beautiful daughters, Nicola, Emma and Rebecca.

 

After working in London as Head Chef in the Directors Dining Rooms of Companies such as Gallagher’s of Weybridge, Halifax Building Society in the Strand and Kingston Lodge Hotel in Kingston upon Thames the family moved to Stratford upon Avon and on to work at Walton Hall.

Latterly responsible for creating Turnors Restaurant at Stoke Rochford Hall and opening Healthworks in Arnold, Nottingham which was a beautiful old pumping station tastefully transformed into a restaurant and health farm.

 

With stints at Stapleford Park and Belvoir Castle, Tony is settled in Grantham and delighted to have been instrumental in the evolution of Market View.

Tony’s aim is to ensure our restaurant maintains the same high quality that sets the shop and cocktail lounge apart from its competitors and we hope you agree.
